Overview of works
Internal and external assessments have been conducted to ensure the fire safety of Buchanan View, and the property has been deemed fit for full occupation.
From October 2025 to November 2026, during a 14-month programme, we are undertaking refurbishment works to the exterior of the property to remove the existing cladding and rendering and replace them with new and improved ones. This will further improve the fire safety of the building and maintain it for the future.

Work is taking place across the property to remove the existing cladding and rendering and replace it with new and improved versions. This work is only focused on the exterior of the property.
Why didn't you tell us about this earlier?
We didn’t want to inform residents until we had a confirmed programme of works which would allow us to provide you with as much information as possible
Is the current cladding on the property dangerous?
Following property assessments by our internal teams and external contractors specialising in fire safety, it was recommended we complete these works to make the property even safer in the event of a fire.
Is the property safe?
Yes, Buchanan View is safe for occupation. We also have various measures and systems in place to ensure the safety of our residents and team members in the unlikely event of a fire.
If the property is safe, why are you doing the work?
We want to provide the best environment for our residents, so if we can make our properties better and safer, we will. In its current state, Buchanan View is safe for occupation, and we work closely with specialist fire safety contractors and local authorities to ensure our properties and fire safety measures are compliant with all regulations.
What will the work consist of?
The works are being completed in phases, meaning only one block will be worked on at a time. When a block is undergoing work, there will be scaffolding, machinery and contractors visible from your flat. They will be removing the existing cladding and facade and replacing them with new ones.
How long is it going to take?
The works are scheduled to begin on 13 October 2025 and are estimated to take 14 months, ending towards the end of November 2026. Each part of the property has different sections of cladding to be removed and replaced, so some blocks may experience longer, or shorter, periods of work than others. However, it’s anticipated that each block, and the flats located in that block, should take no more than 8-12 weeks.
How will I be impacted?
These works are taking place across all blocks; however, it will be completed in a phased programme to minimise disruption. When work on your block is happening, there will be scaffolding visible from your windows, along with the contractors undertaking the work and some noise disruption. We recommend that you keep your blinds closed during working hours and don’t open windows fully.
Will the property be safe while work is taking place?
Yes. Measures will be put in place to ensure that residents, team members and visitors are kept safe throughout the programme of works. There will also be clear signs highlighting any areas where residents should be vigilant, and there will be a Foreman at the property every day to ensure all safety procedures are in place and are being followed.
Will I be informed when works are starting on my block?
Yes, we will be keeping you updated throughout the programme of works via this web page and email. We’ll also keep you updated on when works will be paused for Christmas, exam and study weeks, and arrival weeks in September 2026.
